The story takes place on an isolated oil rig in the middle of the ocean, on which there is an accident. A solitary and mysterious woman (Sarah Polley) travels there to take care of a man (Tim Robbins) who has been temporarily blinded. A strong bond develops between them, one that will change their lives forever.
