Based on a detailed investigation lasting more than three years, this documentary tells the story of programmed obsolescence going all the way back to its origins in 1920, when a cartel was set up to limit the shelf life of electric bulbs, and all the way up to current cases which affect electronic products such as our modern iPods and printers.
